Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Is there a light mode for this discourse instance? If so, I can’t really find it.
Not yet Joe. But we hear you. Who else would like the option?
+1 preferably tied to system there. I go light in the day and dark at night.
Another +1. It’s especially annoying that it appears as though you can pick a light theme, but it doesn’t work. On top of that, the dark theme is way too low-contrast for me.
Hi all, I completely agree that our custom theme needs work. I don’t know when we’ll get to that so in the meantime, I dug into the admin settings and found a way to enable the default team, which has both Light and Dark mode variants. It should now be selectable in your user preferences! Tap your avatar in the top right corner, find and tap the user-shaped icon, go to Preferences, and select Interface. You should then be able to select “Foundation.” LMK if you have any issues finding it! @swrobel’s screengrab is instructive. Thanks ![]()
Thanks @JeffAuriemma! Here’s the URL, just change your username of course:

Thanks @JeffAuriemma @Dan_Boerner I can now select my theme, but for some reason auto dark mode isn’t working despite having it enabled:
This works on other discourse forums I’m on, and can be tested in Firefox like so:
and Chrome like so:
Hi @swrobel! Thanks for raising. I tried reproducing in Firefox and wasn’t able to - when I select Foundation and define light and dark themes and set Mode to “Auto,” the interface responds to my system setting.
odd, it’s working now. thanks!
